Wishes for Children Foundation
May, 2008 Local Charity Ad
The Wishes for Children Foundation is a non-profit organization that collaborates with all
local charities. Their commitment is to raise money that will help children right here in
the Temecula Valley. To accomplish this goal, they seek many avenues, ventures and projects
including scholarships, donations to children's charities, special events, golf tournaments
and much more.
Through strictly volunteer efforts, the goal and vision of the Wishes for Children Foundation
is to build a foundation that is an ongoing source of financial assistance and support; made
available to the children when needed and/or requested. Granting many wishes and dreams to
children with life-threatening illnesses or that may be severely under privileged makes them
a strong resource in this community that provides for the children.
It is the belief of the Wishes for Children Foundation that pulling together as a community
and providing for children in the Temecula Valley will make a difference. The children they
help will soon be the adults, building and maintaining this precious area. The Wishes for
Children Foundation is committed to reaching out to the community as their voice, their
partner, and their help with the sole desire to give strength, vision and a smile to our
children.

Oak Grove - Residential Treatment Center
March/April, 2008 Local Charity Ad
Oak Grove is a nonprofit 24-hour residential and educational treatment center that serves 76 children who
live on campus and an additional 80-90 day students who attend our nonpublic school day program. Oak Grove
is located in Murrieta, Southwest Riverside County. Oak Grove also operates a second campus in Perris,
Oak Grove at the Ranch, serving an additional 50 students. Children and youth are admitted with a
variety of psychological, social, emotional, behavioral, medical and neurological problems with concurrent
behavioral difficulties, school problems, family dysfunction and alcohol or substance abuse. Many of the
children have suffered physical and/or sexual abuse, other traumas or experienced many other social,
emotional or behavioral challenges.
Oak Grove works with children and adolescents whose needs and problems can be quite complex. One of their
greatest assets lies in the sophistication and experience level of a team of clinicians comprised of
psychiatrists and licensed independent practitioners (MFT, LCSW, Psy. D), as well as their nursing staff,
behavior intervention specialists, teachers, milieu and activities staff that together make up the
Treatment Team.

CST - Canine Support Teams
December, 2007 Local Charity Ad
CST is made possible by the many people who volunteer their time, energy, money and love for the purpose
of enhancing the lives of those affected by disabilities.
Service dogs are placed with people who use wheelchairs, walkers, crutches or canes. They are taught to
assist their partners by pulling manual wheelchairs, turning lights on and off, pushing elevator buttons,
retrieving dropped or hard to reach items, making purchases or banking transactions, opening and closing
doors and drawers, barking to get help and providing stability for walking.
All dogs accepted into the training program must pass rigorous health and temperament tests. These dogs
are either part of the CST breeding program or are donated by private breeders. Canine Support Teams is a
volunteer organization. Almost all skill, labor and help of every kind is provided by people who volunteer
their time and energy.
